Hessian
Soldier Andirons
This very traditional design was originally cast in iron by colonists
who were sympathetic to Hessian soldiers hired by the British. So
impressed by their uniforms and discipline, the New England foundrymen
created these andirons to commemorate the soldiers. Cast iron and
finished in black or handpainted in the 5 traditional colors. 19”
