These pin style hinges were English in origin and very important to early homebuilders.The 3”, 4” and 5” sizes were widely used on corner cabinets and cupboard doors. 7” hinges were typically chosen for full size interior doors and the 9” size would have been used on heavier entrance doors. Our blacksmiths fully work each hinge with a hammered, beveled edge.

Half Surface H & HL Hinges

Combined with our jamb pintle (I) on page 9, this hinge design hangs a door on the jamb. Perfect for heavy interior doors or entrance doors. The pin size for both the 9” and the 7” hinge is 3/8” dia. (Please specify if you need left hand or right hand, see detail on page 7).
